Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home
Nassau, The Bahamas – In early 2021, Premier Arts Collective hosted a three-month creative enrichment arts program at Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home. Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home is for boys and girls that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. On average, it houses 20–25 children between the ages of 11–18.
The creative enrichment program was coordinated and led by Keisha Oliver and facilitated by a team of creative professionals living in The Bahamas. It offered a series of art therapy and creative enrichment sessions specifically for the children living in the home. The curriculum was designed to engage at-risk youth through individual and collaborative arts activities that focused on three areas: Art Therapy (Literary & Performance Arts and Visual Arts), Creative Entrepreneurship (Bahamian Traditions and Bahamian Innovation) and Arts Advocacy (Beach Cleanup and Upcycled Art).
